The last few days I noticed that my Quicken 2016 was not updating all of my accounts. I kept getting the Quicken ol-1-b error but I figured I'd wait until I had some time over the weekend to deal with it and just kept inputting my daily card transactions like I try to do.
There are many different versions of Quicken for the PC and Mac. I am running Quicken 2016 Deluxe, V 14.1, Build 25.1.14.19 on a Windows 10 computer.
I tried restoring my Quicken file to an earlier date when I knew this problem wasn't happening and still got the same error. I did this with a couple of different dates just to be sure.
I also tried validating my file but this did not work.
In addition I also tried reactivating one of the bank accounts still got the same error.
I tried deleting one of the bank accounts and then adding it back but still got the same error. One bank was updating without the error but another was not. Neither was a credit card or loan account.
I did post to the Quicken forum because after I tried everything I was out of ideas.
I did get a response from a nice gentleman on the forum. He wrote that " the OL error means that there is an issue at the financial institution. The servers are either overloaded or have halted downloads to Quicken.
Unfortunately, you would need to reach out to the financial institution in order to resolve this issue. Explain that you are trying to download your transactions into Quicken and give them the error in which you are getting ,and they should able to provide you with any information that they might have."
I thought that seemed plausible but it's the weekend so I didn't expect any help from any bank, etc.
I keep getting reminded by Windows to install the "Fall Creators Update" which I would promptly snooze every time. I new it would take a long time with multiple restarts. Well I decided in light of this problem to just go ahead and install it. I thought it unlikely to be the cause of my Quicken error but wanted to be sure. Like I expected it took a LONG time with multiple computer restarts.
However when it was done I logged back into my Quicken and immediately tried the One-Step update. Success!!!! Everything updated properly and all o1-1-b errors are gone.
If you are having this problem and need to install the "Fall Creators Update" or any update for that matter try getting all applicable updates installed and then see if the Quicken errors resolve. Hope it works for you as it did for me!
If it doesn't work I would try the other steps I outlined above. If those steps don't work I would try contacting the financial institutions as I was directed.
Has anyone else had and successfully resolved this problem. If you don't mind how about commenting and letting others know what worked for you.
Thanks!
